Hagwons.com strives to be the definitive resource for English teachers in South Korea, including information and advice for people interested in teaching, planning to teach, currently teaching in and those who have taught English in South Korea.
The service we provide is not limited to finding jobs as an English teacher. You can find and trade teaching advice, tips and strategies with other users, look for items you may need, get rid of things you don't, learn about places to visit, things to see and events to experience around South Korea and Asia, find local events, or just find out what folks are doing over the weekend.
The objective of Hagwons.com is to take some of the uncertainty - but not the mystery or fun - out of teaching and living in South Korea. This is especially useful to potential future teachers - and their families - who may be unsure about this experience. We want to provide a place where you can get all the answers you need before you sign a teaching contract.
In the past, before a teacher came to Korea to teach, they would find a teaching vacancy somehow - maybe through a friend, recruiter or internet ad or E-mail - do some research, then sign a contract and hope for the best. Sometimes it worked out, sometimes it didn't. With Hagwons.com, you can search our database for the hagwon you want. You can choose where you want to teach based on your findings. You can know, before you ever sign a contract, what the apartment looks like, what the neighborhood looks like and what there is to do in the town. Not so long ago, you had to get to Korea to learn all of these things.
So if you want to come over and teach, visit our database, look at some hagwons and be sure to visit the message boards and introduce yourself. Ask questions and get comfortable. If you do decide to teach English in South Korea, you'll feel better coming to live in a town where you already know a few people rather than arriving in an unfamiliar situation.
The information in our database is provided mostly by current or former teachers. They're the folks who have been there, done that and know a thing or two about this gig. Many of them were teaching English in South Korea long before Hagwons.com existed. They're the folks who submit hagwons, upload pictures and post on the message boards. They're helping the new folks out because they're kind and they know what it's like to come to an unfamiliar country to work and live and for their time and effort, we thank them.
What some current teachers may not know about is what it's like to get a job after leaving Korea. That's where former teachers help the rest of us. They know, not only what it's like to teach English in South Korea, but also what it's like to try to use that experience to land a job.

Hagwon submissions
We can not vouch for any or every Hagwon, school, program or institution submitted to Hagwons.com. If you choose to join the ranks of an institution, you do so at your own risk and relieve Hagwons, LLC from all liability. It is YOUR responsibility to do your own due diligence before agreeing to employment or volunteer work anywhere, ever.
We reserve the right to alter or delete, in whole or in
part, any submission that is inaccurate, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise
incorrect, for any reason at any time.
Repeated violations could lead to account termination.
In order to access some of the services on this site, you will required to
use an account and password that can be obtained by completing our online
registration form, which requests certain information and data
